Close-up (nyc)

Ressonnance was honored to present a one-of-a-kind sound installation at Close-Up, a modern and boundary-pushing jazz club in New York City known for its commitment to forward-thinking artists. For the first time in the venue’s history, Close-Up opened its stage to a sound bath experience—transforming the club into an environment of deep listening and visual poetry. The performance featured longtime friend and multidisciplinary artist Gabriela Akel, who created a live abstract watercolor painting in real time, responding intuitively to the unfolding soundscape. We were also joined by guitarist and sound designer Tim Watson, whose layered sonic textures elevated the evening into uncharted territory. This collaboration marked over a decade of shared creative language, resulting in a truly singular event that fused the boundaries between performance, installation, and live art. We are deeply grateful to Close-Up for welcoming our vision and helping bring this unforgettable moment to life.
